The Egg Hunt

Yesterday was a blast. It started with a spring egg hunt put on by our apartment complex. We had brunch, and then the little ones got to search for eggs in the courtyard. I don't think Megan understood the concept. She was just excited to play outside and ran to the slide, passing up all the candy filled eggs. She was riding this elephant toy while the other kids were trying to grab the eggs underneath.
I finally convinced her to collect a few.
We brought Melanie to church for the first time today. This was Megan's first Sunday outfit as well.
Big lips means a big smile.
We had chocolate fondue the other night. Megan liked the strawberries, but she liked the chocolate more.
She got a little vigorous.
Meggie is talking quite a bit now. She often repeats whatever we say, and will randomly say, "Scared of noise." She apparently gets scared a lot, but rarely enough to actually act scared. She has started singing, too. We'll hear her belt out "Twinkle, twinkle little star," and her favorite is the clean up song.
She has her own verses, too. Usually she sings, "clean up, clean up; books away!" or "bee book away" (the bee book is one of her favorites). Today it was "animals away" and then on the second verse it was "stuff away." What a silly girl.

Update

We are all doing great. We had a fun time with dad on his spring break. We are looking forward to warmer weather. Not much is going on, but no news is good news. We are trying to find an apartment in Albany, hopefully we will have one by the end of the month. Here are some cute pictures of what we have been up to.

You turn your back for one second.
She is starting to smile, but it is so hard to get her to do it for the camera.

She is such a delight to have.

Maiden Voyage of the RMS Titanic 2

We received a double stroller as a gift when Melanie was born. I have been so excited to use it, but the weather has not been cooperating. Today, we decided to go for it anyway. It is so nice, I love it. Thanks to Grandma, Grandpa, Great Grandma, and Aunt Rebecca for it.

The Story

To make a long story short, this is what went down this week. 3:30 Thursday morning, I start having contractions that are 10 minutes apart, not too painful. This continues until about 7am, when they become a lot stronger. They are still about 10 minutes apart. Around 7:30, mom says that since they are painful, we might as well go in to the hospital. So I get up and start getting Megan, myself and Russ ready to go. As soon as I get up, the contractions start happening every 2-6 minutes. We hurry everyone along and we get to the hospital around 8:30. They are now about 2-3 minutes apart. I get to triage and they examine me and all they can feel is my water and they say that I am probably complete and don't have time to get an epidural. They take me to a labor room around 8:45 and get an IV started just in case I can have one. They broke my water and I soon start pushing. I didn't have time for an epidural. OUCH!!!!! Melanie was born at 9:21 in the morning. She was 6 lb 13 ozs and 20'' long.
Here are some more pictures:

She looks so much like Russ did when he was born.
