August

Russ and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in August. We went to a resort in the Dominican Republic. It was fantastic. This was our beach. My mom watched the girls for us. She didn't have enough to do and all, seeing that......
My brother Andrew got married!! They married in Sacramento, so the girls got to take a trip as well. But wait, there is more....
My brother Jonathan got married the next weekend in Salt Lake!! Unfortunately, their weddings bookended our trip, so we didn't get to see them. But I am glad the girls got to go.
Melanie and I completed out Learn to Read book. It was a real struggle the last half. Luckily, (or maybe I should say unluckily for Mel) I can be very stubborn too! Still not quite sure where the youngest gets it though.
We had our dance recital Mel's ballet was to Kiss the Girl, Meg's ballet was to Star Wars, and they did a tap routine to Happy.
Maddie turned 3! We started the potty training journey. Not at all surprisingly, she is taking her sweet time with it. I am still clinging to the hope that we will have her out of diapers before she walks down the aisle.
We got to go to the Ogden Temple Open House, which was awesome.
Megan started the second grade!
Melanie started kindergarten! She is doing full time and is doing great. We sure miss her at home, though!
Well that was our summer in review. We were very busy and had a great time. We are so excited that school has started again.
July
For the Fourth, we went up to Huntsville. We did the parade in the morning. After that we played in the park and swam at Russ's friend's house. In the evening we went to Russ' aunt's house and had a great time there. Melanie fell asleep and slept through the fireworks. The family picture was taken after the fireworks at midnight. You shouldn't judge by that picture, because we had an awesome day!
Another great Bear Lake trip!
We went camping again, We got a new table. Our old one we got when Megan was a baby. It has been moved five times and was very wobbly. Yea!
Russ harvested honey for the first time. Not too shabby for our first season as beekeepers!
The girls have become obsessed with snails. Megan finds 20 without blinking an eye. They build habitats and playgrounds for them.
We gave Tafty a haircut. The girls were very excited to be treat givers. Also to spread dog fur everywhere
June
We took a trip to Evansville the first week of June. It was our first time driving so it took us about 24 hours to get there. The girls were wonderful! We played and had so much fun. We went to Holiday World, which was so awesome. We ended up getting rained on, but it is Evansville. We also got to chase fireflies, which I miss a lot. We also happened to be in town for my Grandma's funeral.
We happened to be at Petsmart during one of their adoption days. We got to hold this great black kitten. The girls were in heaven. Megan spent the next month talking about how mad she was that we didn't have a cat.
We also took tennis lessons this summer. This is Melanie in the picture, I didn't put one of Megan up. Melanie did not like it (surprise!), but Megan said that it was ok, but too hot.
Lunch in the Park started again. We go to the park for a free lunch during the weekdays. This is the reason I think I look forward to summer the most. Megan is extremely dirty in this picture.
We moved Maddie up with the big girls in a big girl bed. We has been a trying situation, but things are going smoother now. I put her in the bed and in the morning, I frequently find her on the floor. We have slowly moved everything out so now there are no toys or books in their room.
Melanie made Daddy a awesome hat for Father's Day. She also made Grandpa Farr one, but I didn't get a picture of that.
Megan was really into makeovers and she wanted me to give her one. These are the colors she picked out.
We did swimming lessons again. Still struggling to get out of level one, but one day I hope we can move on!
