Nine Month Meggy!

I took Megan in for her 9 month appointment yesterday. She weighs 15.15 pounds and is 27'' long. She is tiny, but mighty! Her recent tricks are clapping and giving the coffee table "raspberries". I haven't been able to get these on camera, but I am trying. She loves to eat, and is now eating "real" dinner with the family. Her first was on Sunday, where she had some speghetti. Here are some pictures of that:

Her favorite food of all time is bread. I will be breaking it up for her and she will dive forward and rip chunks out of my hand, all the while screeching her warning cry that means "Give me my bread or else!!" If she was any bigger or had more teeth, I would fear for my fingers. She seems to be better from her ear infection, and is so fun to have around.

Abraham Lincoln?

We spent a weekend in Philly. It was so fun! Here are some of the highlights:

One of the printed copies of the Declaration of Independence. They also had George Washington's copy of the Constitution, where he made a correction in his own hand.
The inkstand they used to sign the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

Megan's favorite part: playing with Sam. Philly's BEST CHEESE STEAKS!! Hands down. I am already craving another one.
The Liberty Bell.
The room where they signed the Constitution. This is where the title of the post comes from. The guide was asking the audience to name people who signed both documents. Some person in the back of the room kept saying: Abraham Lincoln! in a totally confident voice. Luckily the tour guide never dignified it with a response. It was pretty funny.
Where the US Supreme Court met from 1791-1800. Russ can tell you all about Marbury v Madison if you want.

I Simply Remember my Favorite Things....

Playing on the computer. In fact she is throwing a royal fit because I am not allowing her to get up here how.
The Remote.
The metal strip right before you get to the kitchen. The entire kitchen, in fact. She senses that kitchen door opening and she makes a beeline for it.
Climbing stairs
Eating Eating Eating. Always Eating.
Boxes and Smacking things.
Chewing on the coffee table.
Chewing on pens.
And electrical cords.

She also likes the CD player. One day, she was playing with a real fun button, the volume button. Then she hit play. That wasn't so fun. It made her scream and cry.
The Hair Extension. This needs some explanation. She loves to run her fingers through my hair. All night long. I have gotten soooo tired of it, that we bought her a $10 hair extension toy at Walmart with hopes that it becomes a good substitute. So far, so good.

Notice that not one of these are toys made for babies. Sigh.

The weather here has been so nice this week. We took advantage of it today and went to one of the playgrounds in our complex. We got some cute pictures, including one of her illusive teeth. We went in after she found that there was so much stuff on the ground that she could eat.

Happy New Year

This is the first of many pictures in this post. I hope you enjoy. Here Megan is "kissing" mommy. She likes to suck on Elizabeth's chin. It get very wet cause Megan is very friendly

The coffee table is DELISH! We got it at IKEA. Those cleaver Swedes, not only is it functional, it's tasty.

Whoever said "all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" is an idiot. Megan got hers for Christmas and she screamed the whole time. (You can see them in this picture if you look real close)

We used to think that Megan isn't really into toys, considering that she always chooses to turn off the computer or steal the remote instead of playing with them. But when we went to Grandma's we found that it's not that she doesn't like toys, she just doesn't like her toys.

Megan learned to climb stairs. She laughed and laughed whenever she did it. It made it easy to keep track of her, and hard for her to sneak away when you would hear giggling coming from the hall.


This is her impressive trick. She can drink out of a cup without a lid and on her own. Of course she refuses to do it when there is an audience.
Gotta love Grandpa.

Megan really loves the matching boots aunt Lisa bought her. Did you notice that she is standing? (It actually wasn't the boots that made her cry, it was those pesky teeth)
So, Megan finally decided to go through the tunnel, but it was only to get to the exersaucer.

She is a little nervous about Christmas. It may be that she heard some obese stranger in a red suit is going to break into grandma's home in the middle of the night and leave lumps of coal everywhere. The fire hazard!!




Megan knows the best way to eat. Messy. She likes to feed herself. Seriously, who needs a spoon?

So we had a good time over the break. Megan is doing somewhat better now. but we think there are more teeth on the way. Oh, well.

Christmas time!

Busted! She was digging through our office supplies. For some reason she loves pens. Go figure.

Megan met Santa for the first time. It was the law school dean, so it was actually Santa Harabogee (Grandpa Santa, He's Korean). She looked a little concerned

So, we celebrated Christmas a little early this year. That's 'cause we wanted to have our own little family Christmas and we're going to be with grandparents during the holidays. Megan got a ton of loot, but mostly clothes. We got some killer deals at a second hand store. Plus, Grandma Farr and aunt Lisa contributed significantly. We were so excited for it; she enjoyed eating the wrapping paper.

We also went down to New York and spent the day with aunt Lisa. We got to see Saks, the tree at Rockefeller Square, and a strange Christmas parade in little Italy. The parade had a bunch of Chinese dragons in it. I don't get it. At Saks we looked around at all the clothes. Most cost more than I made this year. Megan was pawing at a $1,300 pair of shoes. Sorry Megan, maybe next year.
